As I sit here watching the Lake Effect snow fall here in Syracuse I was reminded of last winter. I had run out of reading material in my travels and I was close to a Barnes and Noble book store, so I wandered over and stared looking around in the various sections. I found a book called the Destroyermen by Taylor Anderson in of all places the Science Fiction section.
It starts at the beginning of WW II in the Pacific and then it gets weird. It's kind of an alternate history with a lot of neat twists along the lines of Harry Turtledove's alternate histories. I enjoyed reading this and then found out it is actually a series of books and I have enjoyed several of the other books in the series.
